Massage
therapy is the systematized stimulation of the soft tissue for
normalization purposes. Practitioners use some physical techniques
like applying fixed or mobile pressure, gripping the body or inducing
motion. Therapists use their hands mainly but they can also use their
forearms, elbows, or feet. Massage therapy's basic purpose is to help
the body repair itself. Many forms of massage focus on various body
parts, or solutions to healing. Massage is the process of using hands
to rub the body and knead it.
Numerous
studies have shown how contact can make a safer and longer life for
humans, in reality, all living creatures, possible. Simple and
intuitive contact is appropriate for stimulating the nervous system
and reducing endorphins, reducing stress and encouraging relaxation.
It does not have to be a full body massage, it can be something
you're comfortable with, a shake of your hand or a hug. Massage is
assumed to improve circulation in the blood and lymph. This is
possibly due in part to the physical soft tissue manipulation, and in
part to the chemicals released as part of the relaxation response.
How
does massage therapy work for our body:
The relaxation response, which is an accidental and predictable reaction
of the nervous system to massage and touch techniques. Mechanical
reactions, which are physical effects that occur in the body when the
soft tissues are pressurized. Massage increases blood flow to the
targeted muscles, speeding up the distribution of the nutrients they
need to operate properly and speeding up the elimination of metabolic
waste which can cause pain and delay recovery. When you don't move
around a lot during the day then the blood flow is naturally
decreased, so massage is a perfect way to get it all flowing again.
Picture
the muscles as a rope-and-pulley network around the skeleton. All
normally moves easily, but if one of those ropes is too short or too
heavy it can stretch or even break. The same can happen with your
muscles if they don't work properly, so massage is not only to treat
damaged tissue but also to avoid injury by keeping all of your'
ropes' going fluidly. During a massage, you feel like finding some
problems with the tissues in the problem area. You can use deep
tissue massage and a variety of techniques that may involve moving
the client's position to stretch, contract or access muscles that can
only be reached from certain angles.
